Lost Tooth

Yesterday, Rachelle lost her first tooth.

It all began a few weeks ago when all of us were jumping on the trampoline. We were jumping in a circle and decided to all land on our butts at the same time. 1..2..3.. we all landed. Rachelle was the only one who fell on her back after. When she did, her knees smacked her in the mouth. She was pretty upset and cried. We found out it caused her tooth to be pretty loose. I tried to pull it out then, but it wouldn't come out. Since then, she hasn't let me try again. That is ok, we just let it be and I knew it would fall out in time. I was just hoping it wouldn't take the 6 months or so that Steven's last tooth took (which was eventually pulled by the dentist). Rachelle told me at the time that she didn't like her dad very much for doing it. She thought it was his fault her knees hit her mouth. Of course I told her it wasn't her Daddy's fault, it was just something that happened.

Yesterday, she went outside and was playing and came in to eat a snack of bananas and a fruit dip I had recently tried at my latest BUNCO meet and decided to test out on the kids. ( (1) 8oz pkg of cream cheese and (1) 13 oz jar of Jet Puffed Marshmallow Cream mixed together) Rachelle then went outside and a few seconds later came in crying. I asked what was wrong and she said she had lost her tooth. I asked how she knew and she said she saw it. I asked 'outside?' and she said she didn't know where she lost it. I asked where she saw she had lost it and she said in the glass on the door. Rachelle was pretty upset that it was gone. Not because we couldn't find it, but that it had come out at all. I couldn't make her feel better that it is a part of life that you loose your baby teeth. She calmed down after a bit, but still isn't too keen on the fact that her teeth will come out.

We did find the tooth right next to the couch where she had eaten her snack. And I put it under her pillow for the tooth fairy. :)
